![]() ![]() If this "feature" truly is missing, I'm officially giving up entirely and forever on open source/free software. Like a checkbox that you click, called "Use page numbers", and then it will show a "1" in the centre-bottom of the first page, "2" on the next, etc. This is supposed to be a setting that you set for the document. It cannot possibly be that they expect me to manually create a "footer" on every page and manually insert a page number from the menu, or type it in myself. There is just no way that this isn't in the program. Not only is this the most useful and basic feature imaginable for any word processor - it's one of the easiest ones to implement as well. They must have just managed to hide it extremely well, both in the program and in the manual. Click in front of the page number field, type Page and enter a space click after the field, enter a space and then type of and enter another space. I refuse to believe that "there is no such feature". When I go to actual page 2 and try to replace the 1 with a 2. When I insert the number 1 to the right of Page Number it places a one on every page of the document. If I enter a page number in a footer, every page has that number. Every time I try to insert page numbers on a Libre Word document (more than one page) I go to insert, page number, click on page number and it types on every page of my document Page Number and does not insert a number. ![]() So if I have the number format for a time field set to military time (HH:MM). Select the Link option on the Paste Special dialog (highlighted with a red.Calc utilizes a Web Page Query import filter, enabling you to insert tables from HTML documents. Nothing I have read in the Instructions for LibreOffice Writer seems to work. LibreOffice is good enough for home users. I would like to add page numbers but I would like to begin with 'page 1' (or '1') on what is really the fifth page. Actually, the solution is really simple, as stated in the bottom of the page. This nonsensical page doesn't explain anything, yet uses many words: I completed a long document without paginating. ![]() Make sure that Create A New Data source is examined and then click Next. From the major LibreOffice window ( Number A ), click on the Database symbol to fire place up the Data source Wizard. It lets you select which "style" should be used, and you can manually insert a "page number" into the normal text as a number (which is obviously not what we want), create an empty "footer", but nowhere does it let you set it to use page numbers. Make sure libreoffice - base will be marked for installation and click Apply (or the Install switch) to install the software. There is no way to set it to use page numbers. I've spent an hour now going through every single menu in the entire LibreOffice Writer program, and searching online. ![]()
